JAPANITIES is an information site that connects Japan and France through language and food. It publishes, in Japanese, French and English, news in parallel languages, Japanese food, drinks, pop culture and information on life in Bordeaux. This page explains how information is handled when you use the site.
Information handled and purposes
- Access data:To deliver the site and guard against unauthorised access, the hosting service may process the IP address, access time, URL viewed, and device and browser information.
- Administration authentication data:The login state of the administration screen, the number of failed login attempts and session information are stored for authentication and safe operation. Passwords are checked in hashed form.
- Contact:お送りいただいたメールアドレスと本文は、ご質問への回答・内容の確認のために利用します。
Member registration, product purchases, payments and newsletter sign-up for general visitors are not currently offered.
Basis for processing
Delivering the site, keeping it secure and handling enquiries rest on applicable law, including the legitimate interest needed to operate the site and serve users. When optional advertising cookies are used, the necessary consent will be obtained.
Connections to external services
Cloudflare is used to deliver the site and Resend to send contact emails. For map display, the IP address and browser information are sent to OpenStreetMap’s servers and, when external photos are shown, to the image provider. Processing locations, storage and retention periods depend on each provider’s policy.
Retention and protection
Retention of access logs follows the hosting provider’s settings. Contact information is kept for as long as needed to respond and is deleted about 12 months after the matter is closed. Where a legal retention duty or dispute handling requires, it is kept for the necessary period.

This page is updated as features and services used change, and the date of update is shown on it.
Audience measurement
We use Google Analytics 4. Only if you allow it, the pages viewed, number of visitors, devices and so on are sent to Google and aggregated to improve the site. Names, email addresses, search terms and URL queries are not sent for analysis. If you decline, the analytics tag is not loaded. Your choice is kept for 180 days and can be changed from the footer. After a change, further measurement stops and this site’s analytics cookies are deleted.
